Spent three days in Seoul -- the last days of my journey. First trip to Asia, and first time in my life I have felt lost, in terms of navigation and communication.

I kept my map handy every minute I was there. Still, I became disoriented on a regular basis. The place names and streets were long, similar-sounding, and difficult to identify on the map and in person. During my three days, I remember ONE instance where the ...

For many years it was a religious community known as the Village of Taoist Masters. Although life is traditional it’s not for show. Along with the thatched roofs and traditional clothing you will see cars trucks and even a few cell phones. It’s a nice ride up the mountain, and an ...

(The story of his father is amazing, and you should check it out on line, or in the Moon Guide. In short the Prince’s father, the King was going mad and had him sealed in a box and he died). He decided to build the fortress at the foot of Mt. Hwa, and he built Yongjusa Temple nearby. It is a great example of construction from the period.

The best way to see the fort is to walk the walls. It will take the better part of a day, and there’s a lot of walking. Sean loved the pancakes ...

(I hope.) But first thing first, Korea. I flew into Korea and met my parents at the Shilla Hotel. It:s a hulking, elegant, black and grey slate and marble cavern of a hotel--it:s one of Korea:s finest and where my father stays for business, but I think my Mom aptly described it when she said it ...

In visiting Seoul we had little knowledge of what to expect from the city. We had only decided to travel there due to the exceptionally good airfares we picked up and the fact neither of us had been there before.
Being one of the few Mexican eateries in Seoul, Panchos is a pretty good place to fulfill that craving for a taco or burrito. The prices are average, and the margarita's are great!

I recently joined the exodus of early twenty-somethings who’ve left the country to teach English abroad. While this is almost becoming a cliché (think the post-college Europe backpacking trip), I decided to take what I thought would be the road-less-traveled… .teaching English in Seoul, Korea. Ok, I’ll be honest. It was a total compromise because China was too daunting and Spain was too easy. But, I do like to think of myself as a traveler, not a tourist, which, to me, means that I would rather have a difficult experience that is rewarding versus having everything handed to me on a Club ...

Sneak away from all the craziness of Seoul and find your own little university craft fair in funky Hongdae, the great little area near Hongik University in Seoul. It's a small afair, but a great way to spend a couple hours on a Saturday afternoon. Artists from the university sell their wares (anything from wallets to handpainted hats) and you can browse as you sip on a smoothie or coffee from one of the many chic cafes and coffeehouses in the area. There is always a musician or performance artist, and, for a second, you forget the concrete city around you. Pretty much a year-round event, with ...

You will also find a lot of travel agencies and shopping here, as well as the International Clinic. Avoid this place at night, especially if you are a woman traveling alone.

Gangnam: This is a fun area where you will find a ...

For anyone that has been in Korea for a significant amount of time, you will know how hard it is to find natural beauty in the cities. We're all about being responsible expats that bring some good to our adopted countries and the world. We already have had one really successful event that raised close to $250 for UNICEF. We will volunteer to teach Korean orphans English, and we are teamed up with Amnesty International Korea for an event on May 5th (Childrens Day) for ...

But ...
